Seagrove Beach, Fl 2014
The owner purchased an extremely small lot with the knowledge that if his home had a tower, he could have Gulf views. Instead of the typical cottage with a tower, the tower itself became the home. A roof deck protects from the sun while giving ample entertaining space. The living areas are on the 3rd level to encourage use of the Roof Deck, while the 2nd and 1st levels house the bedrooms and guest bunk space. The design is a nod to the trees and vegetation that surround the home and the footprint is compact to protect the large Oaks and Magnolia on the site. The use of pile also minimize disturbance to the roots of the trees.
