At McWhorter Vallee Design Inc., our design philosophy centers on creating spaces that harmoniously integrate the landscape and our clients’ needs. We strive to blend simplicity with sophistication, resulting in cohesive and elegant designs. Our approach deeply respects the community and its history, ensuring that every project we undertake contributes positively to its surroundings.
Our firm stands on the legacy of Carey McWhorter, a visionary architect whose contributions have shaped the Florida panhandle. Carey earned his undergraduate degree in architecture from Auburn University and a Master’s from Cornell University. He was known for his commitment to design excellence and his unwavering dedication to his clients and community.
Carey’s life was a testament to love, laughter, steadfastness, faithfulness, and unselfishness. A true “Dye-hard” Auburn Tigers fan, Carey balanced his professional accomplishments with a deep personal joy, often found sketching, strumming his guitar, or playing golf. His legacy lives on through our work, as we continue to uphold the standards of integrity and creativity that he established.
In 2015, Carey partnered with long time collaborator Anthony Vallee to form McWhorter Vallee Design Inc., marking the beginning of a fruitful collaboration with Anthony Vallee. Together, they brought a unique blend of experience, creativity, and dedication to each project. Their partnership was built on a shared vision of design excellence and a mutual respect for the communities they served.
While our expertise shines in residential architecture, we also bring extensive experience to retail, commercial spaces, residential planning, institutional projects, and religious buildings. We are honored to continue Carey’s legacy and strive to create designs that reflect the values he cherished.
The following projects are a sample of Carey’s work as the principal of McWhorter Architects PA:
